Public Lectures & Others
RE1707 Finale Seminar
As our business school students now contemplate which majors to specialise in for the academic years ahead, IREUS Co-Director, Prof Ooi and our industry guests explained how real estate can furnish compelling career pathways for young talent.
Public Lecture: Real estate marketing - the past, present and future
Transacting a property is not just about finding the right offer to meet the asking price. The human buyers and sellers behind the bricks and mortar inject an element of complexity that requires an agent to bring substantial expertise and experience to the table. ERA's former CEO, Jack Chua shares how residential agency has evolved over the years, and how practitioners can keep themselves nimble to stay ahead of the curve.
Public Lectures: (i) Real estate investment and finance; (ii) Rental housing markets in focus: Lessons from China and Japan
These two lectures - respectively conducted by DBS banker Yeo Kia Chiak, and JLL's Dr Bruce Pang and PIMCO Prime Real Estate's Dr Eric Li - cover how banks finance real estate projects and the considerations underlying risk assessment, and thereafter move on to rental markets in China and Japan, and the opportunities for investors.
IREUS Roundtable - ESG, Beyond Compliance
This by-invitation-only session brought together like-minded sustainability professionals and professors to delve into an in-depth discussion around “ESG Beyond Compliance”. While ESG often focused on compliance and risks, the session explored the financial benefits of embracing sustainable practices in real estate and practical steps to decarbonising real estate.
